Injury Assessment is Just the Start

We provide a thorough and accurate injury assessment at no extra cost to our clients. Upon your arrival for a scheduled injury assessment, our licensed physical or occupational therapist will evaluate your injury and conduct the appropriate tests to help the patient better understand the pain and dysfunction they are experiencing. After your assessment, we at Injury Rehab Clinic can help provide recommendations including:

  • When to begin physical therapy and how to plan for your recovery
  • Whether to follow-up with an orthopedic specialist, in which we can provide recommendations and expedite your appointment scheduling
  • Customize an exercise program to help accelerate your recovery

When attending your injury assessment, we recommend you dress comfortably to make the process as relaxed as possible. The assessment also gives the patient a chance to get a sense for our clinic and staff to make sure it’s the right fit for you. Once the practitioner makes their recommendation on the course of action they advise, we can begin the process to navigate your recovery in a timely fashion.

Post-Op Rehabilitation is Our Specialty

No matter the extent of the injury that results in our collaboration, the team at IRC is focused on helping you make a full recovery. We create treatment plans to get you back to work, back on the field, or simply back to doing what you love in a timely manner. We will work carefully with your surgeon to coordinate your rehabilitation program and establish a line of communication between patient, practitioner, and doctor to ensure the recovery goes to plan. You’ll be in good hands; our physical and occupational therapists have extensive background in treating post-surgical patients while taking your physician’s specific protocol into account.

Mobilizing an injury is important after surgery to get the muscle structure to respond in a favorable manner, but there are strict guidelines to follow in the early stages of post-surgical recovery. Out licensed PT and OT’s help patients understand the safe movement patterns to begin, and what gains are to be expected in the early stages of the physician’s protocol. It’s important to understand the contraindications and precautions following surgery as well, and these will be thoroughly covered in the evaluation of the post-surgical body part upon your arrival at Injury Rehabilitation Clinic.

Back and Neck Pain is Tough Stuff. Our Rehab Plan Will Make it Better.

If you suffer from neck or back pain, you know just how debilitating it can be. Back pain is one of the most common medical issues reported in the United States, and many individuals are resigned to the fact that they will never get better. We at IRC want to provide that guiding light to recovery and show our patients that they don’t have to live in constant pain. Back and neck pain can be a result of high stress, nerve compression, poor ergonomics at home or in the workplace, repetitive movements, and/or imbalances of the musculoskeletal system. Whatever the cause, our physical therapist will complete a comprehensive evaluation to identify the root of your issue and begin you on the path to healing. We help improve your quality of life through hands-on treatment, education on workstation modifications, and customize an exercise program designed to treat your specific needs.

Manual Therapy Can Make The Difference

Manual therapy utilizes a hands-on approach that bypass the need for machines or technology. We determine the course of treatment through a manual assessment of the muscle structures involved. This entails establishing a baseline range of motion and strength measurement, feeling the pliability of the muscle structure(s) in and around the painful area, and providing treatment to mobilize the musculoskeletal system in ways that the patient can’t readily move themselves. Soft tissue mobilization techniques are commonly performed to the muscle groups that are demonstrating guarded postures or resisting passive stretch.

Manual assessment of the area of interest will provide our physical and occupational therapists the information they need to develop a plan of action to eliminate the pain and discomfort. Manual therapy techniques have been proven to decrease pain and tension of inflamed or overworked muscle groups and improve blood flow to damaged tissue. Once evaluated, the therapist will develop a tailor-made exercise program that will be carried out over the course of the treatment to address the root of the patient’s pain and discomfort.

In addition, knee replacements are one of the most common outpatient surgical procedures performed in the United States, and our specialists are ready to rehab you the right way following your surgery. No matter what the cause of your knee pain, we are ready to get you back up and running at IRC!

Dry Needling 500x500

Dry Needling

Trigger point dry needling is a technique used in therapy that requires the manipulation of a very fine needle to release knotted and painful muscle tissue. Dry needling has been proven wildly effective for the relief of neck and lower back pain, but can be performed in all areas of the body. Injuries such as golfers elbow, tennis elbow, calf strains, hip pain, or rotator cuff tendonitis are just some of the indications for dry needling.
